KABUL (BNA) Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the Acting Minister of Vice and Virtue, said in a meeting with Marks Potzel, the head of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan that “All women in our country observe the hijab.”
Sheikh Muhammad Khalid Hanafi, the Acting Minister of vice and Virtue said: All Afghan women in our country are willing to observe the hijab, adding this is a divine decree and standard for us, and we must prioritize Islam, said the Ministry in a statement.
“Drug cultivation has been banned in Afghanistan and we are striving to find an alternative to poppy cultivation.” He added.
Meanwhile, Marks Potzel, the head of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in this meeting demanded the reopening of girls’ schools and emphasized the role of women in society.
It’s mentionable that currently the field of education for girls in universities and other academic institutions is favorable and girls are engaged in education in schools up to the sixth grade.
