Afghan-Russian not to Allowed Negative Actions to Impact Diplomatic Ties: MoF

KABUL (BNA): Country’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a phone call with the Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Sergey Lavrov, late this Monday.

According to a statement by the Afghan Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi in this phone call expressed condolences to his Russian counterpart for today’s attack in the vicinity of the Russian Embassy in Kabul and assured him of a comprehensive investigation thereon.

Minister Muttaqi said that the two sides should not allow such negative actions by the enemy to negatively impact the close and positive relations between the two countries said the Ministry statement.

For his part, Mr. Lavrov appreciated the phone call and extended his condolences to Afghan victims of the blast on the Afghan side.

The Russian Foreign Minister called this attack the work of international criminal syndicates, emphasizing the need to fight against them.

To end, Foreign Minister Muttaqi assured his Russian counterpart that the Afghan security forces would increase attention to the security details of the Russian Embassy.

On Monday afternoon in the area of ​​the 7 police district in Kabul city, close to the Russian embassy, ​​a suicide attacker who wanted to commit explosions was targeted by the security forces and killed, but an explosion occurred immediately after the incident , which killed two Russian diplomats and injured some Afghan civilians.
